COVID-19 Update
During these unprecedented times, IEA is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all staff and students based upon the guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Education (DOE), Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and Department of Health (DOH).
Based upon the guidance issued by the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) on November 18, 2020 all day service facilities were directed to close until at least January 19, 2021. As a result, IEA’s Adult Life Skills Program is currently closed for in-person instruction. IEA is currently providing virtual instruction to adult participants.
As advised by the local health department, IEA’s Education Program is currently operating under all virtual instruction until at least January 18, 2021. Beginning on January 19, 2021, IEA will operate under a hybrid schedule of instruction. Please see the hybrid calendars below:
Please note: The Reopening Plan is an ongoing process and subject to change as directed by the New Jersey Department of Education or as dictated by changing circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year….
And not even the COVID-19 pandemic could deter Santa from Zooming by to check in on all the IEA students. There was plenty of joy, big smiles, and lots of Ho Ho Ho’s from Santa as he read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to all, and made one last check to make sure everyone is on his nice list this year. While Santa’s annual visit to IEA was certainly a bit different this year, there’s no doubt this jolly old elf brought the wonder and excitement of the holidays to all.
All of us at IEA wish you and your family a peaceful holiday season and a Happy New Year!
To answer the question that donors have asked about helping IEA during this uncertain time, we have set up The IEA Fund to receive donations that will enable us to continue providing life-changing services to our students and their families. Below you will find a letter from IEA to our Contributors. To make a 100% secure online donation to The IEA Fund, click the Donate Button.
At this time of great uncertainity, we want to say thank you to all of those who have supported IEA over the years. It is at a moment like this that we realize how incredibly lucky IEA and those we serve are to have your support. Because of your contributions to our program, IEA continues to ensure that students are learning, and growing, even during these unprecedented conditions. IEA was required to close its building, however, we have not stopped helping the children, adolescents, and adults learn. With the hard work and collaboration of our team members and parents, the learners of IEA continue to learn new skills via home instruction, virtual instruction, and parent support strategies. And, the reports we have received from the parents indicate that many of the students have been incredibly successful under such different learning conditions. This has been made possible by the efforts of our families, staff, and contributors. Thank you for helping us be there for the IEA families.
Although IEA was planning on hosting our highly successful and fun Casino Night in June, we have decided to cancel the event, given the uncertain, and unprecedented, conditions surrounding us. We will miss seeing you that evening, but we are certain that there will be many other exciting events that bring us together in the future.
All of us at IEA send our best wishes to you and your families during this time. We hope you are all safe and healthy. And, we are forever in your debt for ensuring the sustainability of our services during such unsual conditions. Our students and families thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
